Etymology
Ovni = UFO
The association of UFO’s with music began to popularise in 1968. This was the year Mick Jagger was reported to have witnessed a UFO mother ship glide across the sky over Glastonbur Tor. Long associated with Arthurian legend, Glastonbury is now renowned for its annual pop festival. Achieving international status, the London rock band UFO was formed in 1968. In that same year Jimi Hendrix released his Axis Bold as Love album. The opening track, entitled EXP, featured a ficticious interview with an alien. 1968 also saw Pink Floyd peforming Intersteller Overdrive at the UFO club in London. Intersteller Overdrive was a track from their second album entitled A Saucerful of Secrets. In the latter part of the year, David Bowie recorded a demo of Space Oddity and the Bozo Dog Doo-dah Band released Im an Urban Spaceman.
Tête = head
Artists and musicians who participated in the drug fueled avant-garde movement of the sixties would often refer to each other as “heads”.
